IFA Announces New Additions for Global Markets, IFA NEXT
While the show itself is quite literally bursting at the seams inside of the Messe Berlin campus, IFA has found a way to continue to mold and evolve its various conference tracks in a way that makes the Berlin-based show feel new every year. And in a series of announcements published over the past few days, IFA organizers displayed their savviness in getting just a little bit more out of two of the newer events, which have quickly turn themselves into must-see attractions: IFA Global Markets and the IFA NEXT.
Once again spanning four days, the IFA Global Markets serves as Europe’s largest B2B sourcing platform, according to IFA. This year’s Global Markets show will once again be hosted at the STATION Berlin venue and will include a range of products, networking opportunities, and education. Highlights this year include a Keynote address, a special Keynote panel and an experts reception on Tuesday, September 4th.
The EXPERT TALKS portion of the IFA Global Markets will feature different panels that reflect numerous channel segments like European geography, product categories and more. Additionally, the EXPERT TALKS offer a forum for buyer to “understand common problems, share experiences, and learn about the business from different angles.”
“It’s a format that is friendly and conducive to personal networking, as well as bringing together successful executives in OEM and white labeling,” Bob Snyder, Editor-in-Chief at Channel Media Europe who will moderate the EXPERT TALKS, said in a statement. “Any buyer or seller can gain money-in the-bank insight into what’s selling and what’s coming down the pipeline.”
Specific topics that will be covered by the EXPERT TALKS this year include IoT, robotics, voice and AI, virtual and mixed reality, and other traditional consumer electronics markets like TV, audio, mobile, and small kitchen appliances.
For IFA NEXT, the second iteration of this forward-focused event will include a much larger display area, a second stage for lectures, themed days, workshops, and an even wider range of topics.
In particular, IFA noted that voice recognition and artificial intelligence will play a larger role this year. A House of Smart Living installation from ZVEI will help attendees get closer to the idea of what a true smart living setup should look like. It could include a smart coffee machine, digital media and energy management solutions, and more, all controlled by the user’s voice. Additionally, it’ll show how background systems in the home can learn the user’s habits and adjust the machines in the home to adapt to the user’s needs.
Other key areas that will bee focused on include robotics, startups, and automotive connectivity, which will be highlighted in the Shift AUTOMOTIVE area of the show.
