No Wii Price Cut On the Way
In what is becoming a frequent event, a top Nintendo executive said Thursday that the company has no current plans for a price cut on the popular Wii console.
The company's North American chief, Reggie Fils-Aime, told The Wall Street Journal's editorial staff that despite recent signs that demand for the Wii is beginning to cool, Nintendo does not plan to go the price-cut route. Instead, the company is emphasizing an upcoming slate of strong software launches, as well as the new MotionPlus controller, in its quest for growth.
Fils-Aime also promised "a nice surprise" for consumers at the upcoming E3 event.
