Walmart Combines Divisions, Establishes Regions
In a bid for greater efficiency, Walmart has announced a pair of restructurings of its U.S. operations, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The retail giant will both combine its realty, logistics and store operations divisions, and at the same time divide its U.S. operations into North, South and Western regions. The three regions, to be supervised by stores chief Eduardo Castro Wright, will each feature its own real estate team, for scouting store locations, and tailer the stores in each region to local specifications.
Hank Mullany will lead the North division, Rosalind Brewer the Southern region, and Raul Vazquez will supervise the Western region, with all three holding the title of president.
