Nurturing the Young Buyer
One of the most pressing topics facing the industry, participants said, is how to create the same long-term loyalty among younger customers that regional and specialty dealers have with baby-boomers. It’s a difficult task, they agreed, given the proliferation of big-box retailers and mass-market e-tailers. On top of that, the younger demographic has grown up on MP3, as opposed to higher-end audio gear that generated higher margins.
