Helping CE Retailers Achieve New Potential
Dealerscope’s Jeff O’Heir recently sat down with Ingram Micro CE’s Tom Bamrick, vice president and general manager, and Tim Coakley, IMCE’s vice president of merchandising and vendor management, to talk about the direction the distributor is taking, the trends that are emerging in the consumer electronics channel and the important role accessories and adjacencies are playing for retailers who are looking to increase their margins and expand their offerings.
Many of the strategies Ingram Micro CE pursues toward breaking into new markets, creating fresh revenue streams and generating profit are examples of what CE retailers can develop to achieve similar goals.
Dealerscope: I noticed you recently added Gibson’s Maestro line of guitars and Peavey’s line of amplifiers and other music gear. What was the strategy behind entering new markets like that?
