Pioneer's DVD car navigation system, model AVIC-D9900V (278,000 yen) features High IQ Precision Technology, supporting 3D maps and advanced communication, and a 7-inch wide monitor. More realistic 3D map display for 750 cities throughout Japan. Three-dimensional buildings can be displayed at adjustable scale, with names displayed automatically as they are approached. The navigation database also includes high-resolution maps for 16 underground parking lots in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. A gyro sensor detects slopes at the entrances and exits of parking lots and automatically displays the appropriate underground parking lot map. The system also supports Voice recognition features, access to Internet-based traffic and weather conditions and use of Japan's electronic toll collection system, which will be introduced this year.
