Sharp Launches New Internet-Compatible Microwave Ovens
Sharp Corp. last month began shipping three new LC-Series microwave/convection oven models into the Japanese market. The next generation from the RE-M2310, Sharp's first "Internet cooking" model, these LC-Series models are capable of downloading recipes from the Internet. Sharp expanded the memory capacity of the accessory cooking data box, a 10,000-yen PC peripheral that can store downloaded recipes from www.spacetown.ne.jp.
The LC-Series offers both grilling and baking features. The 700-watt model, RE-LC1, features a 250° C hi/lo heat sensor control for professional results. The 900-watt RE-LC2 features a "heated air convection oven" capable of two-level cooking. Another 900-watt model, RE-LC3, offers a "multi cooker feature" that can make breadfrom mixing to baking.
