Inside the Apple Store
Apple exercises a surprising amount of control over the behavior of its employees at Apple retail stores, training employees on sticking with the script for customer interaction and even choosing the music and photos used in in-store displays.
That's according to a lengthy feature story about the stores published in the Wall Street Journal Wednesday.
The story came days after the announcement that Ron Johnson, the head of Apple's retail arm since it launched 20 years ago, will leave later this year to become CEO of J.C. Penney.
