Insta360 GO is the ‘Twenty-Gram Steady Cam’
Insta360 has created the world’s smallest stabilized camera to capture action shots at the click of a button. The $199 Insta360 Go uses FlowState stabilization for incredibly smooth footage, and with the included accessories, users go completely hands-free.
Each Insta360 GO comes packaged with a magnetic lanyard, a tripod mount, a magnetic sticky mount, and a magnetic clip mount. Insta360 demonstrates the camera’s usage on a surfboard, a baby stroller, a cup of beer, and a sweatband during a basketball game. The GO’s IPX4 water resistance rating means it can handle rain, splashes, and a brief immersion under water.
With the a click of the sole button on the device, users can capture up to 30 seconds of footage to create a highlight reel-style video. Standard 15 or 30 second-video clips are captured at a resolution of up to 2720 x 2720, and are cropped to 1080p at 25 fps for exporting. There’s also a hyper lapse setting, which can record up to 30 minutes of footage for a 5-minute video, static time-lapse to record up to eight hours for a nine-second video, and interval shooting that can record up to 7 days. The GO can also capture 5-megapixel photos that export as square images at 2560 x 2560 resolution with additional landscape options to boot. Users can shoot around 200 clips a day, based on an 20-second clip average.
