With distributed audio systems, it's important to describe the difference between a room and a zone. Zones can listen to different sources than other zones at the same time, while rooms are subject to the selection made by their master zone. If a keypad system is being installed, be sure to indicate the level of control that can be exercised from each keypad. Being specific sets expectations and provides meaningful information to your programming staff about which source features to make accessible.
Room by Room
For each room being served by the many systems you are providing, describe which systems are accessible within that particular space. Assign a zone number related to the distributed audio system to the space. Describe what level of control will be available to the user in the space. Indicate any interfaces between other systems in each space.
