iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Perform OK in Breakability Tests, Outshine Samsung’s Note7
Not that the Samsung Galaxy Note7 needs anymore negative press, but the phone appears to be a less-durable option for consumers out there as it relates to the recently released iPhone 7 and 7 Plus—exploding batteries aside and all. In a new report from smartphone protection plan provider SquareTrade, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus finished with better breakability scores than the Note7, though none of them proved to be truly damage proof phones.
For the report, SquareTrade Labs used a multitude of robots to put the devices through all kids of tests, which included dropping them, having them tumble around, dunking them in water, and bending them. SquareTrade created a video (below) to show just how tough these tests are on the phones—and those tests, by the way, are designed to mimic the rigors of everyday use.
