iRobot Announces Vacuuming Robots
iRobot this week introduced its latest series of vacuum-cleaning robots, as part of the “Roomba 500” series. The “smart” cleaners use wireless technology to “know” when it is done cleaning a room and must move on to the next one.
Available now, the Roomba comes in three denominations, costing $249, $299, and $349; all use the iRobot’s three-stage cleaning system. The company has sold 2 million iRobots since the first ones were introduced in 2002.
Also this week, iRobot announced a lawsuit against an Indiana-based company called Robotic FX, the Boston Herald reported.
