iPad Forecasted to Sell 7 Million Units This Year
Apple's new iPad device is expected to sell 7.1 million units this year, a figure that will triple by 2012. That's according to a preliminary forecast released last week by research firm iSuppli Corp.
The firm sees Apple selling 14.4 million iPad units in 2011 and 20.1 million in 2012.
The iPad represents an intriguing mix of two devices that have struggled to gain traction for years: Internet appliances and tablet PCs," iSuppli's director of monitor research, Rhoda Alexander, said as part of the announcement.
