The U.S. International Trade Commission issued a final decision regarding the refrigerator infringement patent case brought by Whirlpool Corporation against LG Electronics, ruling in favor of the latter. All but one of Whirlpool's claims that their U.S. Patent No. 6,082,130 for ice storage bins located in refrigerator doors had been infringed by LG was declared invalid by the ITC. The ITC ruled that the remaining patent did not cover LG refrigerators. Provided Whirlpool does not appeal the decision, the ITC ruling remains controlling.
