Sanyo Hybrid Portable Communication Device, Model RZ-J91
Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., late last month began selling its hybrid communications device, model RZ-J91, which can download music via DDI Pocket's Sound Market download service. The device employs Keitai de Music standards, a system for downloading and listening to music via a portable phone. The Keitai de Music is constructed from security guidelines, protocol standards, secure multimedia card standards and download/play system standards based on UDAC-MB standards. The UDAC-MB is a content protection technology developed jointly by Sanyo, Hitachi-Maxell Ltd. and Fujitsu Ltd.
Users can download, play and listen and record roughly 30 minutes of music onto the phone's 32MB secure multimedia card. A remote controller with an LCD screen operates the music's fast-forward, rewind, bass settings, sound settings, play mode switch and intro play/two-point interval repeat features. The 105g RZ-J91 offers 500 hours standby time, 6 hours talk time and 5 hours continuous play time.
