JL Audio Expands Architectural Audio Line with Fathom 8-Inch Subwoofer Systems
New in-wall and in-ceiling subwoofer systems were rolled out by JL Audio this week as the company announced an expansion to its line of architectural audio solutions with the new Fathom 8-inch line. The smaller line joins a series of product that includes the 13.5-inch driver in the Fathom in-wall subwoofer system.
“We are excited about the potential of the 8-inch in-wall and in-ceiling subwoofer solutions in our growing line of architectural audio solutions,” Andy Oxenhorn, President of JL Audio, said in a statement. “These models have a very small, low-profile grille that will please customers looking for a visually unobtrusive solution that delivers true JL Audio sub-bass performance.”
JL Audio explained that the new 8-inch Fathom IWS and ICS systems are packaged in compact enclosures that implement “extensive architectural features” that are intended to improve the rigidity of the product. Inside that enclosure is an all-new, long-excursion 8-ionch thin-line subwoofer that was built by JL Audio specifically for these products. Each 8-inch Fathom IWS and ICS system is driven by a rack-mountable amplifier with up to 600 watts of clean power, programmed specifically for each system.
