J&R Founders in CE Hall of Fame Class
The Consumer Electronics Association Wednesday announced the 2010 CE Hall of Fame class, which includes Joe and Rachelle Friedman, the founders of J&R Music and Computer World in New York. Other retail inductees include David and Eugene Mondry of Highland Superstores, and Al Sotoloff of Silo Appliance City in Philadelphia.
The new Hall of Fame class will be inducted during a dinner at the CEA Industry Forum in San Francisco in October. They will join the ten previous classes since the CE Hall of Fame was established in 2000.
Executives in the class are Richard Kraft, the first U.S. president of Panasonic Corp.; Frank McCann, a PR stalwart for RCA, Thomson, and other firms and Frederik Philips, the longtime president of Philips known for having saved 382 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his factory.
