Josh.ai Collaborates with Sony on Voice Control
Artificial Intelligence home control pioneer Josh.ai is collaborating with Sony to expand the integration of its platform with network-enabled Sony TVs, projectors, and receivers to provide an array of solutions for voice-controlled entertainment spaces.
Part and parcel of the collaboration is not only compatibility but a seamless set-up process for the system integrator, said Josh.ai in the announcement. Once connected to the network, Josh will auto-populate to Sony devices, with configuration of HDMI inputs and A/V outputs visibly diagrammed in the Josh portal for intuitive setup. Once the system is completed, users are able to walk from room to room and simply ask their Josh Micro to turn on their desired content.
For example, according to the announcement, homeowners can walk into their theater and say, “OK Josh, watch Season 3 Episode 2 of Mad Men.” Josh.ai understands the request is coming from the theater, powers on the projector, uses a knowledge graph to determine Mad Men is on Netflix, directs the Sony receiver to select the appropriate media server as an input and sends to the proper output, and switches to the appropriate audio source.
“Our device integrations are incredibly important as we recommend solutions for luxury clients who want performance as well as reliability, with the simplicity of being able to ask for any music or video content in a room and have it instantly play,” said Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai in the announcement statement. “Sony is a prominent manufacturer for many of our dealers, and we’re excited to continue our development with their product mix.”
“Sony’s focus has always been on innovation and premium quality experiences for our customers,” said Mike Fasulo, president and COO, Sony Electronics North America in the statement. “As a leader in supporting the custom installation channel, we see a great opportunity to get even closer to our customers by working with Josh.ai’s technology.”
