JP Morgan Report Hints at “iPhone Nano”
Apple will supplement the iPhone with a smaller, less expensive version possibly modeled on the iPod Nano, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing an analyst report from JP Morgan. But the firm on Tuesday distanced themselves from the report.
The report stated that Apple last week filed a patent application for such a product, one that includes a Nano-like scroll wheel. The new product will be released in the fourth quarter of this year, the report said. However, another group of JP Morgan analysts on Tuesday cast doubt on the report.
Meanwhile, another analyst, cited by Reuters, predicted the reverse: that Apple will release eventually iPods that feature iPhone’s touchscreen format. Apple would not comment on either scenario, Reuters said.
