KEF Enters Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Market with Muo
Audiophile speaker brand KEF has begun selling in the U.S. the Muo wireless portable Bluetooth speaker, making its first play for positioning in that audio category.
The Muo, with a $349 pricetag, is a product whose design was inspired by the company’s $220,000/pair Muon speaker, said spokesman Johan Coorg at its introduction, which took place at New York City’s Museum of Arts & Design. “For the last 15 years, our goal has been to marry great aesthetics with acoustical technology that audiophiles care about,” said Coorg. “We like to see the Muo as the very first high-fidelity Bluetooth speaker,” he said. Both the Muo and the Muon were designed by the same industrial designer, Ross Lovegrove.
