KEF’s Trio of New Products Include Headphones, Speakers
Over the last few days, British-based speaker manufacturer KEF has introduced a number of products that will make up the company’s fall lineup. Those products include new speaker offerings and a new entrant into its line of headphones.
Let’s dive into KEF’s trio of announcements.
MUO wireless speaker. Award-winning designer Ross Lovegrove teamed up with KEF recently to help KEF design its Muon loudspeakers, which go for $240,000 (you read that right) per pair. Lovegrove and KEF hooked up again to borrow from the Muon’s design as they developed the new MUO wireless speaker. With the MUO, KEF and Lovegrove aimed to design a strong-molded internal enclosure to house the device’s drivers, high-performance digital-to-analogue converter, and other components. The result is a wireless speaker that streams “CD-like quality” stereo sound via Bluetooth aptX. Further, the MUO features NFC “Tap-to-Pair” functionality, 12 hours of playing time on a rechargeable battery, and high performance DAC, among other features. The MUO, available in five different colors, will be available on October 15, and will retail for $349.99
