Dealer Data: Retail Product Sales Forecasts
In Vehicle Technologies
Overall, the market for in-vehicle entertainment and information and security devices will hit an estimated $10.9 billion this year and is predicted to reach $12.4 billion next year. The aftermarket continues to shift from installed products to integrated solutions. CEA expects original integration market to continue toward controller-based solutions as consumers demand more than simple connectivity. That will increase average wholesale pricing and aftermarket revenues this year by 4% to $2.7 billion, with stronger growth in 2008. All is not rosy, though. By the end of the decade, integration products will struggle to offset declines in traditional segments and overall revenues should flatten. The industry also forecasts a 21% revenue drop in aftermarket satellite radio receivers.
