Kindle Lineup to Arrive in 16,000 Stores
The original Amazon Kindle was available only directly from Amazon, but when the new Kindle Fire tablet arrives next week the Fire and other Kindle models will have a dramatically larger retail footprint.
Amazon said Tuesday that the full family of Kindle devices will be available in over 16,000 retail locations nationwide, including Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Staples, Sam’s Club, RadioShack, Office Depot and several smaller stores. Starting Nov. 15, the lineup will include the Kindle Fire as well as the Kindle, Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G.
The Nov. 15 release is a week earlier than originally announced.
