Klipsch has begun selling its two new premium sound bars that are designed with the company’s signature horn-loaded technology to evoke the look and sound of the brand’s premium Reference speakers.
The 48-inch BAR 48 and 40-inch BAR 40 sound bars with wireless subwoofers are made from wood, like the brand’s premium loudspeaker lines.
The Klipsch BAR 48 system ($499), a 3.1-channel sound bar, features a dedicated center-channel speaker for enhanced dialogue clarity, a wireless 8-inch subwoofer, and built-in surround sound processing including Dolby Digital audio, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS and DTS-HD. Designed to fit below the TV screen, BAR 48 is 2.8 inches tall and can be wall-mounted or placed on a table. Optional SURROUND 3 speakers that are available will turn this 3.1-channel sound bar into a full-fledged, dedicated 5.1-channel surround sound system capable of delivering Dolby and DTS 5.1 formats natively. The optional SURROUND 3 speakers are $249/pair.
The $299 Klipsch BAR 40 2.1-channel sound bar is paired with a wireless 6.5-inch subwoofer and features a built-in Dolby Audio decoder and enhanced virtual surround sound modes. It is also slim profile and 2.8 inches high.
Both the Klipsch BAR 48 and BAR 40 work with Bluetooth-enabled devices and come with remotes to control sound and subwoofers levels independently.
Klipsch will introduce additional sound bars with more tech-focused enhancements in the fall of 2019.
Both systems are available now at Best Buy, Crutchfield and Klipsch.com, and will be available at other authorized retailers soon, says the company.
