Last Week Was Biggest Online Spending Week Ever
The week ending Dec. 18 was the biggest for e-commerce sales in history, according to numbers released by Comscore.
Total sales amounted to $6.3 billion, with four different days crossing the $1 billion mark. The week marched a 14 percent jump over the same week last year.
"With only a few more days until Christmas, the preponderance of Americans’ late season holiday shopping will shift to brick-and-mortar retail, although the procrastinators among us will still be able to take advantage of expedited shipping and buy online up to and including the day before Christmas Eve with the guarantee of having their gifts delivered in time for the holiday," comScore chairman Gian Fulgoni said in a statement.
