Leigh Adams, a longtime CE retailer who played a major role in the founding of HTSA, passed away last week after a long battle with cancer.
Adams founded Leigh Adams Discount Sales Audio Video Big Screen in Ontario, Calif., in 1985 and owned and ran it for 22 years, until his 2004 Stage IV cancer diagnosis led to the sale of the business three years later. Prior to that, Adams managed Carl's Jr's restaurants in the 1970s, before entering the CE industry as a key account rep and sales trainer for Bercor.
After the store, Adams was an area and division governor for Toastmasters International. In 2013, he started a consultancy called Thinking Into Results.
