LG Debuts Ultra HD TV at Final Four
This weekend saw a milestone in the adoption of Ultra HD TV, with LG presenting the first-ever filming of a major sporting event in the format, at the NCAA mens' basketball Final Four in Atlanta.
LG teamed with the NCAA, CBS Sports and Turner Sports to show highlights of the first two Final Four games on Saturday, demonstrating them at locations throughout the Georgia Dome.
"After being the first to market with Ultra HD TVs, it only seems fitting that we'd be a part of the first major U.S. sporting event produced in 4K," James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA, said as part of the announcement. "The Final Four is the perfect place to demonstrate this next frontier in picture quality as LG continues to drive the Ultra HD market."
