LG Doubles Down on AI with North American Research Lab Expansions
It’s only natural for members of the press to be critical of whatever subject matter they cover. In the case of consumer tech, we like to question product and strategy decisions made by manufacturers, the world over. But, if we’ve learned anything over the past few weeks, questioning LG’s commitment to the world of artificial intelligence would simply be a waste of one’s time.
We’re still a few weeks out from the company’s first-ever IFA keynote where they’ll discuss their own AI strategy, specifically as it relates to their growing and expanding ThinQ technology. But that hasn’t stopped LG from continuing to publicly display just how far they’re willing to go and how much they’re willing to invest in the future of artificial intelligence.
Today, the company doubled down on its commitment to this space by unveiling a major expansion of its North American AI research labs. The expansion involves a newly launched partnership with the University of Toronto and a stronger research focus for the company’s already-established Silicon Valley AI Lab in Santa Clara, California.
