LG Electronics USA announced that it has collaborated with well known eSports team FaZe Clan to host a “no-holds-barred” gaming competition that will help to mark the debut of LG’s new UltraGear 21:9 gaming monitor. The competition, which will take place at DreamHack Atlanta, will feature a PUBG competition that will kick off with an appearance by FaZe Clan team members FaZe Mxey and FaZe FuzzFace. Other FaZe Clan members, FaZe Teeqo and FaZe Dirty, also will participate in the competition that will pit selected DreamHack attendees against the pros.
As the launch event for the new UltraGear monitor, the competition will utilize the new 34-inch UltraWide gaming monitors.
“LG has developed its most powerful gaming monitor yet, offering high definition and high refresh rate that combine to create the most immersive gaming experience possible,” David VanderWaal, senior vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA, said in a statement. “Like LG, FaZe Clan sets the benchmark for performance in the esports world and partnering with them to introduce our newest gaming monitor demonstrates LG’s commitment to providing consumers the ultimate gaming experience.”
Designed to provide the most immersive gaming experience, the new UltraGear 34GK950G-B features a virtually borderless 34-inch Nano IPS display. The display is powered by an NVIDIA G-Sync graphics processor that’s built into the monitor, providing smooth motion graphics with zero tearing or stuttering. The 120Hz overclocked refresh rate adds to the smoothness of the picture during gameplay.
For an added touch of customizability, LG included their unique Sphere Lighting technology that lets the user select one of six color settings.
LG said that the competition will culminate with a final face-off between fans and the FaZe Clan members, where they will compete for a gaming package Grand prize that’s built around the new LG UltraGear monitor.
The 34GK950G-B will launch at a special Black Friday price of $1,199.99 (it will be regularly priced at $1,399.99) and will be available through Amazon beginning November 16th. It will launch at other retailers, including B&H, Beach Camera, and Adorama in the days to follow.
