LG and General Motors Partner to Develop Chevy Bolt EV
This week, LG Electronics and General Motors revealed that the two companies will partner in developing Chevrolet’s next generation Bolt EV, the car brand’s electric vehicle. According to GM, the Bolt can travel more than 200 miles on a single charge, making it the “first long-range, affordable EV.”
LG and GM have already conducted joint planning and research meetings, and the two companies presented the Bolt EV concept at the North American International Auto Show back in January. Chevy then confirmed in February that the Bolt EV would go into production at GM’s Orion Township, Michigan assembly plant in late 2016.
