LG Electronics highlighted the introduction of its Full HD SL90 Series LED LCD HDTVs at the Atlanta-held CEDIA Expo yesterday, touting the models’ 1.15-inch depth, advanced picture-reproduction technologies and the single-layer, narrow-bezel design that give it a seamless aesthetic when the sets are turned off.
Also, Peter Reiner, senior vice president of marketing, announced a planned expansion of LG’s partnership with content provider Vudu beyond the company’s NetCast-endowed TV SKUs to its BD390 wireless network Blu-ray player.
Tim Alessi, director of new-product development, said the SL90 series, which uses LED edge-lighting technology and is available in 42-inch ($2,099 MSRP) and 47-inch ($2,399 MSRP) screen sizes, answered market needs as indicated in several LG-identified consumer wants unearthed in the company’s market research. These, he said, include desire for LED technology and eco-friendliness.
