LG Smart Appliances First to Integrate with Both Innnit and SideChef
With the Smart Kitchen Summit 2018 going on, LG Electronics announced that it will integrate a pair of new smart kitchen platform services into select 2018 LG smart ovens and ranges. The services, Innit and SideChef, will enable users to select personalized meals “tailored to their individual lifestyles” from a combined 18,000 meal recipes via their respective apps.
LG said that the integration of both services makes their appliances the first in the industry to offer both SideChef and Innit compatibility.
Once a user selects a recipe from either service, they will have easy access to step-by-step video instructions on their phone, and the cooking instructions such as temperature and time will be sent directly to the LG range or oven. The LG appliances will then work with Innit’s multi-step Expert Cooking Programs to automatically control the oven temperature cycles and cooking modes that are ideal for each meal throughout the entire cooking process. According to LG, the adaptive programming “eliminates the need for manual adjustments” and takes the guesswork out of a successful cooking experience.
With SideChef, users will be able to connect the app to the LG appliances and automatically trigger cook time, temperature, and cooking mode instructions, all of which will be sent to their appliances while the continue to plan, prep, and create their meal.
Both services have been integrated through LG’s Open Platform and Open Connectivity strategy.
