LG Focuses On Improving TV’s Sound, Design and Picture
LG’s new line of LCD and plasma TVs unveiled at 2008 CES have a new focus on slimmer designs; sharper, richer pictures; and better-sounding audio.
Allan Jason, LG’s vice president of consumer electronics marketing, introduced the new sets by saying, “We spend a lot of time listening to customers and delivering what they want,” adding that a major ongoing focus will be breaking away from what he describes as the “design hell” consumers face when choosing a flat-panel television.
On the LCD front, LG showed off eight series and 24 models, including 17 with full HD 1080 capabilities. Screen sizes range from 19- to 52-inches. The new models include the flagship LGX Super Slim, a 1.7-inch thin LCD with a red back; a bedroom TV; a wireless HDTV unit; and another with LED backlighting technology.
