LG Unveils W ‘Wallpaper’ TV at CES
LG Electronics is raising the bar in performance, features, and value with its 2017 crop of OLED Ultra HD 4K TVs debuting at CES 2017. But it is also upping the ante on thin – introducing Wednesday morning at CES its OLED LG Signature W – its first Picture on Wall “wallpaper” TV.
David VanderWaal, head of marketing for LG Electronics USA, said the new W7 series measures just 2.57mm - one-tenth of an inch – in depth at the 65-inch screen size, offering a “unified look with the wall.” It attaches to the wall via magnetic brackets that leave no gap between the wall and the TV – hence, “wallpaper” TV. “It’s like looking through a window,” VanderWaal said. “‘W,’ in this case, stands for wallpaper, window – wow,” he added in unveiling the design to the media.
