Over the weekend, LG Electronics was honored with a number of awards—28, to be exact—at the iF Design Awards 2016, setting a new record for a Korean company at the event. The large haul was credited to four different products: the LG SIGNATURE refrigerator, the LG SIGNATURE washing machine—both of which took home top honors in their categories—as well as the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV and the LG SIGNATURE air purifier.
Dating back to 1953, the iF Design Awards is an international design competition run by International Forum Design each year. This year, a total of 5,295 products were entered into the competition, and 75 received awards for their design innovation. The iF Design Awards are “widely seen as among the top three global design awards along with the Reddot Design Award and IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards),” LG said in a statement.
