LG Electronics will launch its new X series smartphones, a mass-tier lineup with premium features that were previously only available on LG’s flagship models, will begin its global rollout this week. The LG X cam and LG X screen will first be available in South Korea and then followed by key markets around the world including Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
The X series is designed to deliver “exceptional value to those who want a smartphone with unique features” like Dual Cameras or a Second Screen, LG said.
Like the LG G5, which also was just recently introduced and will be available in April, the X cam comes with a 120-degree wide angle lens that compliments the standard lens. The 13MP standard angle and 5MP wide angle camera on the backside of the phone deliver “as wide a field of view as the human eye,” according to LG. Further, the X cam offers Pop-out Picture, which combines the two images taken with the standard and wide-angle lenses to create a picture-in-a-frame effect. And, available only on the X cam, Animated Photo is a feature that delivers a hybrid video and still photo, one framed by the other.
