Liebherr Touts “Green” Refrigeration
A Canadian company called Liebherr is called its refrigeration offerings the “cleanest refrigeration in the world.” It is because the company has brought all of its North American products into compliance with the European RoHS environmental standards.
In order to reach the standards, which stand for “Restriction Of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment,” Liebherr has eliminated lead, mercury, cadmium, and types of chrome, biphenyl, and biphenyl ether from its manufacturing process.
“Liebherr does not want to wait until compliance is mandatory. We are taking action right now,” Liebher North American vice president Marc Perez said in a statement, adding that the company has found better and cleaner ways to make its products. Liebherr’s product line is available through Almo Distributing.
