Loop Introduces a New Connected Personal Display for the Home
The photography/connected home enthusiast has a new way to stay in touch with friends and family thanks to the newly-introduced Loop connected personal display. According to the founders of Loop, their new device is designed to resemble TV sets of yesteryear while allowing users to easily view and share photos from multiple sources, all on one screen in the home.
The device, which is available for preorder on the Loop website for $199, will ship in Summer 2016.
Loop can connect to photo streams from Dropbox, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, iPhoto, and Google Photo, and will let users share directly from their iOS or Android device. The photos are then organized into channels based on subject or source to help “curate the viewing experience.” Two analog dials on the side of the display allow users to move through pictures and change channels, Loop explained. The device recognizes air gestures to pause on a photo, or the user can tap the top of the device to “like” different photos.
