Lyngdorf Audio Debuts New Speaker, Subwoofer
Lyngdorf Audio has introduced the MH-3 speaker and BW-3 subwoofer to their audio product line-up. Based on the traditional compact Lyngdorf speaker design, the MH-3 sets a new bar for how small a speaker can be, while still providing high-level dynamic performance. With a focus on reproduction of open voices and tight transients, the MH-3 is the optimal choice for a small stereo or media room installation with subwoofers.
The MH-3 is a two-way speaker with a 4” midrange driver mounted in a compact enclosure featuring wall mounts. In order to have an audiophile performance in this extremely small cabinet, we have designed this 4” driver with a magnet 50% stronger than traditional 4” drivers. This magnet design results in a higher sensitivity and a linear frequency response in this important frequency range.
The BW-3 is designed as a high bandwidth subwoofer with the objective of reproducing optimal dynamics and precision. This is reflected in the frequency range of the driver reaching up to 800 Hz in bypass mode, in contrast to traditional subwoofers, which are typically limited to 120Hz.
The internal amplifier is Lyngdorf Audio’s Class-D design based on more than 15 years of experience in designing audiophile Class-D amplifiers. With an output of 400 watts, it can deliver ample power to control the 8” driver – even at high levels. The BW-3 is equipped with a long-throw driver mounted in an extremely compact enclosure.
