Nationwide Fights Instant Rebate Payment Cycles
Manufacturers are turning a deaf ear to Nationwide Marketing's efforts to shorten the time it takes dealers to receive consumer instant rebate reimbursements.
The problem has been a bane to dealers for the last two years, as manufacturers continue to delay the reimbursements - which can run several thousand to several hundred thousand dollars, depending on the size of the dealer and the rebate program - for up to four months.
"Whether they're small medium or large (dealers), that cash flow is critically important to their business," Mike Decker, Nationwide's executive vice president of electronics marketing, said during the buying group's Prime Time dealer conference this week in Las Vegas. "These are big dollars. It's huge."
