Hurd Joins Oracle
Mark Hurd, who surprisingly resigned last month as CEO of HP, has joined Oracle as co-president, the company announced Monday.
Charles Phillips resigned his position with the company. Hurd will join Oracle President Safra Catz, and also join the company's board.
“Mark did a brilliant job at H.P., and I expect he’ll do even better at Oracle,” Oracle CEO Ellison said in a statement to the media. “There is no executive in the I.T. world with more relevant experience than Mark.” Hurd will report directly to Ellison, who was outspoken in ripping HP for their dismissal of Hurd.
