Mass Fidelity’s raD Offers A Smaller Footprint
Canada-based audio company Mass Fidelity introduced via a 30-day Indiegogo campaign Nov. 15 the follow-up model to its well-received and initially crowdfunded $599 Core Wireless Audio System: the raD: a smaller-footprint, ruggedized system that makes it suitable for use outdoors (it’s IPX5-rated water- and shock-resistant). It is $149 at the crowdfunding campaign launch but its planned retail price will be $299.99, said Neil D’Souza, Mass Fidelity CEO and co-founder.
Its name derives from the Radial Dispersion Soundfield 180-degree technology at its heart. Users do not need a Wi-Fi connection or a mobile app to configure the raD, as it is pairable to a music source via Blueooth 4.1 with its NFC feature, or through a 3.5mm jack.
