Maxell will use its 3,000-square-foot booth at the 2011 CES to showcase full-line ranges in its home entertainment and computer storage/peripherals lines.
The company is building out its audio product portfolio with the all-in-one AcoustaBar by Maxell three-model wall-mountable soundbar line. The flagship 520-watt 40-inch-wide SD400 (SRP: $399; January availability) is SRS WOW 3D-certified, and offers six drivers including built-in dual subwoofers and an iPod/iPhone charging dock. The 32-inch SD320 ($249), at 430 watts, is SRS WOW 3D-certified and will also dock and recharge an iPod or an iPhone. The entry-level 240-watt 32-inch eHT Digital Soundbar ($199) offers SRS 3D sound enhancement and will play iPod and iPhone content as well as other MP3 music through inputs. The top two models are 7 1/2 inches deep and the entry model is 6 inches deep, and all lend themselves to simplified hookup and are green-speaker-certified, according to David Rubin, assistant product manager for accessories.
Maxell also plans to show full lines of iPod/iPhone docking speaker systems in various model configurations, both stationary and portable, that include alarm clocks. Although their industrial designs had not been finalized at press time, the pieces could include a model or models with a unique, cube-like footprint, said Rubin.
