Panasonic's contribution was a pair of Palmcorder/digital still units--PV-L858 (SRP $999.95) and PV-L958 (SRP $1,099.95)--with a 23x High Definition Zoom, a flip out LCD monitor for image review and Digital Image Stabilization.
Back on the film camera side, Fuji announced four new and two upgraded APS cameras, the former all with mid-roll change, topped by the Endeavor 3500ix Zoom MRC (21-58mm zoom); the SMART QuickSnap MultiView one-time use APS camera that offers all three print formats (Classic 4 x 3, HDTV 16 x 9 and Panorama 2 x 1); DX-9 Zoom Digital with 3X zoom, 2-inch LCD and burst capability of 4, 9 or 16 images in two seconds ($599); and the MX-700 Digital with 1.5 million pixels (ESP $799). A new family of 35mm color print films features the Superia 100, 200 and 400 along with Fujicolor Superia Reala (100) and Superia X-TRA, combining 800 speed with flexibility.
Agfa countered with its easy multi-format APS and improved 35mm Le Box Go single-use camera; upgraded 35mm color negative films, HDC Plus in ISO 100, 200 and 400 speeds; and Agfachrome CTprescisa 100 and 200 color slide film.
