Meijer Plans Store Remodeling
Midwestern retailer Meijer this week announced plans to invest $75 million to remodel ten stores in Michigan and Ohio.
The changes, which will affect eight stores in Michigan and two in Ohio, will make improvements to both the inside and outside of the stores, including improvement of the stores' energy efficiency. The company will also open a pair of new stores, a "SuperCenter" in Michigan and a small-format store outside Chicago.
"We are pleased to reinforce our commitment to these communities," CEO Hank Meijer said in a statement. "Our customers expect high standards from us, and our investment in these stores will ensure they continue to receive our best."
