Meridian North America cut the ribbon last week on a digital theater within a 3,500-square-foot space in the heart of Manhattan’s tony SoHo district that will serve as a showplace for its dealers to use to demonstrate the company’s product lines in an optimal and discreet setting.
The entire suite, originally headquarters for sister brand Sooloos before it was refurbished, will also serve as Meridian’s U.S. sales and marketing hub, while the company will maintain its operational facility in Georgia, said Meridian CEO Peter Wellikoff at the opening.
“New York City is where many of the decorators and designers are,” he said, “but the facility will be used to provide sales and marketing support for New York dealers and beyond, as a place where they can bring high-profile clients to see Meridian and Sooloos products. Meridian holds great appeal for hard-core audiophiles. However, there is a growing percentage of affluent individuals who are looking for the best of the best, but refuse to walk into a traditional retailer for a demonstration. This gives those individuals the ability to come in at their convenience, away from the crowd, and spend as much time as they want with a system.”
