Microsoft Backs Out of Nook Deal
Barnes and Noble said Thursday that Microsoft has exited its two-year-old partnership to bolster B&N's Nook E-readers.
Microsoft has terminated what was a $300 million investment, which among other things embedding the Nook app in Windows devices. The deal was made under Microsoft's previous management regime.
The announcement came as Barnes and Noble announced earnings. The book giant posted a profit of $12.3 million, down slightly from last year's $13.2 million.
