Microsoft and its manufacturer partners sold 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 devices in the first six weeks after the new platform's launch, the company said Tuesday.
In an "interview" published as a press release by Microsoft, the company's vice president of business and marketing for the phone area, Achim Berg, the company stated that the figures "should go a long way to silence misguided claims that the company’s new mobile OS is 'a flop.'"
"We’re comfortable with where we are, and we are here for the long run; Windows Phone 7 is just the beginning. Our opportunity is to make sure people get to play with a Windows Phone. Once they do, they love it. This is very important for us," Berg said.
