Microsoft Makes “Arcade” Xbox Official
Confirming months of rumors, Microsoft announced this week that it will introduce an “arcade” edition of the Xbox video game console, the Seattle Times reported. Priced at under $300, the console is meant to grab some of the casual-gamer demographic that has made the rival Nintendo Wii console a huge success.
The Xbox 360 Arcade, priced at $280, will come with five games, a wireless controller and 256 MB of storage. The games include “Pac-man Championship Edition” and “Uno.” The Arcade edition will replace the Xbox 360 Core console, which is being discontinued.
