Microsoft, Netflix Announce Xbox Streaming Deal
Confirming rumors that had persisted for quite some time, Microsoft and Netflix on Monday announced a deal in which movies from the video rental service will be available for streaming through the Xbox 360 console, the AP reported. The deal was announced at the E3 Media & Business Summit in Los Angeles Monday.
Under the terms of the deal, 10,000 movies will be available through streaming.
Netflix had said earlier this year that was pursuing deals with multiple hardware providers to provide screaming of its movies. Earlier this spring it released a device called the Neflix by Roku Player, and has announced a deal with LG to provide a similar device later this year.
